Building trust takes time,”
says Philippe Magid, Executive Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre, about the collaboration between artistic and administrative teams that is necessary for art to thrive. Learn how the artistic and executive leadership at Bangarra unite with great success around a compelling mission to create inspiring experiences that change society. Philippe describes some recent adventurous partnerships and the level of trust required to bring them to fruition.
“Your key partners at work need to feel as though their voices are being heard. And it’s absolutely ok to disagree and still achieve great things together.”
Bangarra is currently celebrating 30 years of working with Indigenous communities across Australia to create dance theatre performances that reach approximately 50,000 people per year. Philippe delivered this Innovator Series talk at the Australia-New Zealand Tessitura Regional User Conference (ANZTRUC) in April 2019.
